Lactobacillus gasseri

Lactobacillus gasseri is a species of the genus Lactobacillus, identified in 1980 by François Gasser and his collaborators. It is a gram-positive bacteria that is a natural part of the vaginal flora. Its genome has since been fully sequenced.

It is used medically as an oral probiotic and for the treatment of vaginal fluoride.
