Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
STOP taking this medicine and seek medical help immediately if you have any of the following which may be signs of a rare severe allergic reaction:
- difficulty breathing or swallowing
- swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat
The following side effects can also occur during treatment:
Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):
- headache
- nose bleeds
- sore nose or throat
Rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):
immediate hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions.
Very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):
- an increase in pressure in the eye (glaucoma), causing visual disturbances and damage to the partition in the nose which separates the nostrils
- alterations in taste and smell
Additional side effects in children and adolescents
When used at high doses for long periods of time in children, corticosteroid nasal sprays may cause growth reduction. Your child’s height may be monitored regularly.

5. HOW TO STORE Mometasonfuroaat Sandoz 50 microgram/dosis
Keep out of the reach and sight of children
Do not use Mometasonfuroaat Sandoz 50 microgram/dosis after the expiry date which is stated on the label after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month
Do not freeze
Once opened use within 2 months
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
